In Fr\u00f6vi, Sweden, the second phase of one of the Nordic region\u2019s most forward-looking greenhouse initiatives is now underway. KUBO Group has broken ground on a new 10-hectare Ultra-Clima greenhouse<\/b><\/span>, to be constructed alongside the existing facility from Phase 1. Both projects form part of the Selected RegEnergy Fund\u2019s portfolio and represent a significant contribution to sustainable, local food production.<\/p>\n

In Fr\u00f6vi, Sweden, the second phase of one of the Nordic region\u2019s most forward-looking greenhouse initiatives is now underway. KUBO Group has broken ground on a new 10-hectare Ultra-Clima greenhouse.<\/b><\/span> It will be constructed next to the existing facility from Phase 1. Both projects are part of the Selected RegEnergy Fund\u2019s portfolio and contribute to sustainable, local food production.<\/p>\n

Technology and climate in synergy<\/b><\/h4>\n

The new greenhouse is based on KUBO\u2019s Ultra-Clima concept<\/b><\/span> \u2013 a technologically advanced, climate-optimised design. It has been third-party verified and holds an official CO\u2082 footprint certification. Tomatoes grown in this system have a 25.4% lower carbon footprint<\/b><\/span> than those grown in traditional Venlo greenhouses.<\/p>\n

Beyond energy efficiency, the greenhouse supports a CO\u2082 fertilisation strategy<\/b><\/span>. Captured CO\u2082 is reused in the growing environment. Combined with renewable energy and advanced control systems, this allows for climate-positive tomato production<\/b><\/span>. In other words, the greenhouse removes more CO\u2082 from the atmosphere than it emits.<\/p>\n

Smart Growing: Efficient, data-driven operations<\/b><\/h4>\n

The greenhouse will feature a wide range of advanced systems. These include climate screens, energy-efficient installations, and an integrated control system. Temperature, humidity, and CO\u2082 levels are monitored and adjusted with high precision.<\/p>\n

All operations are supported by KUBO\u2019s Smart | Growing programme<\/b><\/span>. The system allows for automated control, real-time monitoring, and continuous optimisation \u2013 both on-site and remotely.<\/p>\n

The operational team will also be trained to use the KUBO Blueprint Platform<\/b><\/span>. This is a quality management system aligned with GLOBAL G.A.P. standards. It ensures a structured, professional setup from day one.<\/p>\n

Part of the Selected RegEnergy Fund<\/b><\/h4>\n

At Selected Group, we are pleased to support the realisation of Fr\u00f6vi 2 through our green infrastructure fund, Selected RegEnergy<\/b><\/span>. The project is a clear example of our ambition: to combine strong investments with local supply, climate impact, and innovation.<\/p>\n

Once both Fr\u00f6vi 1 and Fr\u00f6vi 2 are fully operational, the facilities are expected to supply up to 10% of Sweden\u2019s total tomato consumption<\/b><\/span>. At the same time, they will reduce dependence on imported produce.<\/p>\n
