There are the plants, but in addition, there are also insects, irrigation systems, and climate control. Shahryar highlights three crucial elements for the greenhouse&#8217;s success:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Employee work<\/li>\n<li>Climate control<\/li>\n<li>Irrigation<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>In the greenhouse, around 100 people are employed, which is crucial for the plants&#8217; growth. There is thus a team that ensures the plants grow correctly, just as another team monitors the irrigation system, as well as a maintenance team that takes care of the greenhouse&#8217;s technical equipment. It is the team in the greenhouse that ensures tomatoes can be grown year-round in Fr\u00f6vi.<\/p>\n<p>Another important part of the operation is the so-called IPM strategy, which is the greenhouse&#8217;s integrated pest management. This method is about creating a natural defense against pests in the greenhouse. Pests cannot be avoided, as the greenhouse is a natural system, but by introducing beneficial insects and microbes that combat the pests, the pests can be kept under control.<\/p>\n<p>The greenhouse is innovative and high-tech, and therefore advanced technology is also used to optimize the production of tomatoes. A fully automated system handles, for example, the packing and transport of the tomatoes while a climate computer controls all essential processes such as irrigation and energy consumption.<\/p>\n<p>With the help of sensors, irrigation is monitored and controlled precisely according to the amount of sunlight, ensuring optimal growth and the most efficient use of resources.
